As you could guess, Cara and I aren’t massive Valentine’s Day people, but the one thing we do similar to most couples is treat ourselves to an amazing meal. This year we were lucky and got into one of Montreal’s best (and most hyped), Le Club Chasse et Pêche.
The menu changes every week but features a handful of staples, one of them being the seared scallops with fennel purée and lemon confit that are supposed to be transcendental. Signeth me upeth. From the looks of the website they have about 7 apps, 5 mains, 5 desserts. But they all look amazing. And I guess it’s fair to do few things and do them well.
Here’s a handful of some of their other staples – their own take on surf and turf, duck with faro, fried octopus, etc.
The New York Times had some nice things to say as well.

Everyone needs to go there before they die. Gros Morne National Park really is everything you hear – it’s truly life-changing. Probably the coolest place I’ve visited in North America. I was lucky enough to go last summer avec C, unlucky enough to bring one sweater. Such shitty weather, but worth every second. My trips lately have definitely been geologically friendly, but my ideal vacation always follows a similar formula – a sleepable car, iPod, 2-4 people, big landscape, and the odd nice meal. I can do ham and cheese for most of it happily.

And the stock money shot:

Everyone needs to go there before they die. Montana, Wyoming, and South Dakota are some of the coolest places I’ve visited in North America. I was lucky enough to go a couple of summers ago with friends.
