A report by a surely reputable sounding organization called the Rocky Mountain Institute reports that if simple energy efficiency measures were taken by most US states that have poor energy performance (40 bad vs. 10 good), energy demand would decrease by 34 mothereffin percent.  Now that’s obviously most of the country, but one third?!  Massif.  Blanket percentages are rarely founded in good science, but a good solid chunk is good enough for me to act on.  Maybe Obama’s plan to weatherize homes and public institutions is brilliant.  Who knew caulking could be so sexycool? Everyone is allowed one caulking joke, mmmkay.
